Car hire at Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI)

Pickup, shuttles and tricks that save time and money

One of Europe’s busiest summer airports: book earlier than anywhere else and avoid pickups between 10:00 and 14:00, the peak queue window.

Where you pick up the car

Traditional companies (Europcar, Sixt, Hertz, Avis…) usually have an in-terminal desk in arrivals. Budget brands often operate from nearby offices with a free shuttle — not worse, but it adds 10-20 minutes: your booking voucher states exactly where to collect.

Night pickup

If your flight lands late, check the office opening hours before booking: some close at midnight and others charge an out-of-hours fee. The comparison engine shows each offer’s hours.

Returning with a full tank

Book full-to-full rates and refuel at a station near the airport just before returning (keep the receipt). Hunting for a petrol station on fumes is the classic last-day mistake.
